Final Weekly Update

What an awesome year!  I enjoyed the chance to get to know each of my students this year!  Thank you for all of the home support that you have provided throughout the school year.  Working together, we made the year a success!

On Thursday of last week, I sent students home with their purple, spiral-bound MAP preparation workbooks from this year and a math enrichment packet.  A yellow summer reading list of suggested books went home as well.  And finally, some students also took home their consumable science textbook.  These are all great and optional resources to help students maintain and continue their growth over the summer months.  FurthermoreI recommend that all students participate in the Summer Reading Club through the St. Louis County Library over the summer.  Students took home papers that discuss the program, along with their “Passport” (where they will record each 15 minutes they read).  When finished, students should return the passport to the county library by the August due date.  Report cards will be emailed home soon.

The last week of school was a busy and fun week!  We finished the book Matilda, watched the movie, and then compared the book to the movie!  We also finished our government projects, read our Storybird picture books to our first grade buddies (see the previous post to read these great stories), and watched Mrs. Garrison's class play!  Here are pictures of some of the fun that we had the last week of school:
