Weekly Update

Writing/Spelling
Students started drafting their next informational books.  We have some interesting topics, such as Titanic, the Oregon Trail, Civil Rights, French cuisine, and mythology .  The next Spelling Test will be Friday, February 24th.

Reading

Students are continuing in their book club groups.  You can support book clubs at home by asking them about their book and if they are keeping up with the assignments.

Math
This week we will finish Chapter 10 with ordering decimals and problem solving with decimals. The Chapter 10 Test will be this Friday, February 17th.  Students will start working on the study guide on Wednesday.

Science
This week we will start our new Science unit on electricity!  This is such a fun unit, and I know students will enjoy learning all about static and current electricity.

Valentine's Day Party
The students had a blast at the Valentine's Day party!  A big Thank You to the parents who volunteered to make this party a success!
